Harvesting a pumpkin, cleaning out the seeds, and baking it into a pumpkin bread has so many rich body movement moments. From using hand strength to pull the seeds out to crossing the midline while stirring the thick batter, the children are building strength. By having a little bake sale, we now have a delightfully fun opportunity to count! The proceeds go to a local charity and the children get to write the letter, address the envelop and place a stamp on it. Participating in helping our community by sharing the yummy delights we bake from our classroom builds our understanding of how we can help each other and every act of kindness makes a difference.
